| Ouch! Your Silence Hurts |
How will you personally respond the next time you witness somebody being treated with disrespect? You have a choice. Will you be a Passive Bystander or a Pro-Active Ally? Do you ever stand by silently when you feel you should speak up? If so, your silence hurts.
Ouch! Your Silence Hurts continues the conversation that OUCH! That Stereotype Hurts started. Ouch! Your Silence Hurts delves more deeply into the pivotal role of the bystander and how you and others can become active allies.
Ouch! Your Silence Hurts will help you understand the high cost of silent collusion, explore the power of the bystander to make a difference, and inspire passive bystanders to use their voice as active allies.
The Ouch! Training Kit includes: DVD with the 9-minute Ouch! Your Silence Hurts Video; Skill-Builder Scenarios; and DVD Extra Video Features. It also includes a CD-ROM with reproducible learning materials; a Leader’s Guide [1-hr & 30-min sessions]; Participant Handouts; PowerPoint Presentation; and Printable Mini-Posters.

“I have one word, FABULOUS!!! This video gives real, gut-wrenching examples of individuals and situations. Most important, it challenges people and gives them the idea that they have the ability to confront stereotypes by showing them how.
Ouch! will be so helpful because most people want to do something, but don't know what or how.”

| OUCH! That Stereotype Hurts |
Best-Selling Video Program for Training in
Diversity & Inclusion, Communication,
Teamwork and Leadership
Staying silent in the face of demeaning comments, stereotypes or bias allows these attitudes and behaviors to thrive. This undermines our ability to create an inclusive workplace where all employees are welcomed, treated with respect and able to do their best work. Yet, most employees and leaders who want to speak up don't know how. So, we say nothing.
This skill-building video/DVD helps employees build the confidence and skills to speak up when they hear stereotypes or other demeaning comments. It can be used in communication, teamwork, leadership, and diversity / inclusion training.
Materials include a VHS or DVD with the 12-minute OUCH! video; a 5-minute video-based Speaking Up Activity [skills reinforcement]; and a 131⁄2-minute alternate OUCH! video [with vignettes incorporated into main presentation]. The package also contains a detailed Leader’s Guide and PowerPoint presentation [CD]; one copy of the book, Ouch! That Stereotype Hurts; and 10 reminder cards with the OUCH! techniques.

"Bravo! You and your team have developed an excellent training tool to help staff everywhere more effectively serve their increasingly multicultural customers. The scenarios are believable, interesting, true-to-life, and cover many key facets of diversity. I know this will become an invaluable tool for diversity and service trainers and the hospitality industry - though, really, any service organization could benefit from it. It's easy to use and professionally presented. I highly recommend Service Savvy!"
