For helpful resources on diversity, multicultural competencies, communication and service success in a diverse world, be sure to check out our Books, Instruments and Recommendations sections.

Each quarter you'll find resource recommendations on a specific diversity topic. These sources are selected by International Training and Development, LLC president Leslie Aguilar and are some of her favorites. What does it take to be a favorite resource? It must be interesting (no-doze), thought-provoking, well-written, applicable to the real world, and a wealth of information or real-life examples.

Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet

Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet tells the story of the 7th century merchant who changed world history in 23 years, and continues to shape the lives of more than 1.2 billion people today. This film creates a lively, thorough, and honest portrait of Muhammad, one that takes viewers not only to ancient Arabian locations where Muhammad's story unfolded, but also into the homes, mosques and workplaces of some of America's seven million Muslims. Leading scholars and theologians round out the documentary with insights and details about Muhammad, what he did, and why Muslims call him the Final Prophet.

This documentary, created by Alexander Kronemer and Michael Wolfe, premiered on PBS on December 18, 2002. It was produced by Kikim Media and Unity Productions Foundation. UPF is a nonprofit production company whose purpose is to develop balanced, fair and accurate journalistic material concerning the world's cultural and spiritual traditions in order to increase understanding and tolerance.

You can purchase Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet in VHS or DVD format for $29.95:
